Platyko is a JavaScript learning app for iOS. You learn through structured lessons, sharpen your skills with puzzles, and test yourself against other learners in 1v1 duels. It’s free to use, with no ads and no tracking.
No. You can start learning immediately in Guest Mode — just open the app and go. In Guest Mode, your progress is stored only on your device and nothing about you is sent to our servers.
Already made progress as a guest? It isn’t lost. When you register, the progress stored on your device is uploaded and linked to your new account, so you continue exactly where you left off.
You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Google or Apple. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account — younger learners can use Guest Mode instead.
When you register with email, we send a one-time verification code to your inbox. A few things to know:
Yes. Signing in with Google or Apple skips the password entirely — we receive only your email address and basic profile information through a secure identity token, and no password is ever created or stored for these accounts. With Sign in with Apple, you can also choose to hide your email address.
Use the Forgot password option on the sign-in screen. We’ll email you a one-time reset code — it works the same way as verification codes (check spam, codes expire after 10 minutes, resend available after 60 seconds). Note that accounts created with Google or Apple don’t have a password to reset — just sign in with that provider again.
Lessons are structured, bite-sized steps that take you through JavaScript from the ground up. Your progress through lessons and courses is saved as you go — on your device in Guest Mode, or synced to your account if you’re registered.
Puzzles are standalone challenges that let you practice what you’ve learned. Your puzzle results and scores are saved alongside your lesson progress.
Your streak counts the consecutive days you’ve met your daily goal. Learn every day and it grows; miss a day and it resets to zero. Streaks are a nudge to build a small, consistent habit — a little JavaScript every day beats a marathon once a month.
The daily goal is the amount of learning that counts as “showing up” for the day. Completing it keeps your streak alive. If you’ve enabled notifications, the app can remind you before the day runs out.
Duels are head-to-head JavaScript challenges against another learner. You both face the same questions — answer correctly and quickly to win. Your duel history and results are saved to your account.
Duels only work if everyone competes on the same terms. That means no automated solvers, no using someone else’s answers, and no manipulating scores, streaks, or rankings. The full rules are in Terms of Use §04 — Acceptable Use; breaking them can lead to account suspension or termination.

Notifications are strictly opt-in — the app only sends them if you grant permission through iOS. We use them for things like streak reminders and duel updates, never for advertising. You can change your mind at any time:
If notifications aren’t arriving even though you want them, check both places — iOS settings override the app.
The short version: no analytics, no ads, no tracking — and Guest Mode collects nothing at all. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Only what’s needed to run your account: your email address, a hashed password (if you register with email), your optional avatar, and your learning data — lesson progress, streaks, duel history, and puzzle results. There are no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs in the app. See Privacy Policy §02 for the full list.
Yes. In Guest Mode your progress is stored only on your device, and the app’s requests to fetch lessons and puzzles carry no account or identifier. Nothing about you is stored on our servers until the moment you choose to register. See Privacy Policy §04.
In the app, go to Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no grace period or recovery. You can also request deletion by emailing platyko.js@gmail.com from the address associated with your account.
Your account, profile, avatar, learning progress, streaks, duel history, puzzle results, and push tokens are erased from our production systems right away. Any residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days. See Privacy Policy §10.

If you’re in Guest Mode, be careful about deleting the app while troubleshooting — guest progress is stored only on your device and is deleted with the app. Creating an account first will save your progress to our servers.

Also note that avatars must be appropriate for a learning app used by teenagers, and avatars that break the rules may be removed — see Terms of Use §05.
